Synthesis of a Novel Zinc(II) Porphyrin Complex, Halide Ion Reception, Catalytic Degradation of Dyes, and Optoelectronic Application

This work describes the synthesis of a novel zinc(II) porphyrin complex, namely [Meso-4α-tetra-(1,2,3-triazolyl)phenylporphyrinato]zinc(II) symbolized by 4α-[Zn(TAzPP)] (4), using click chemistry approach in presence copper iodide. All synthetic species reported herein were fully characterized elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, proton nuclear magnetic resonance, UV-visible and fluorescence. To synthesize complex we produced 4α-Meso-tetra-o-nitrophenylporphyrin (H2TNO2PP) 4α-meso-tetra-o-aminophenylporphyrin (4α-H2TNH2PP) (1) known classic literature methods. 4α atropisomer was converted to 4α-meso-tetra-o-azidophenylporphyrin (4α-H2TN3PP) (3) reaction with sodium nitrite azide, then it metalated Zn(II), leading [4α-meso-tetra(2-azidophenyl)porphyrinate]zinc(II) (4α-[Zn(TN3PP)]) (3). The method finally used prepare (4). new tetracoordinated prepared order to: (i) produce receptor for anion recognition sensing application Cl− Br−; (ii) study catalytic decomposition rhodamine B (RhB) methyl orange (MO) dyes; (iii) determine electronic characteristics as photovoltaic device. Complex (4) formed 1:1 stoichiometric chloride bromide halides average association constants addicts ~ 103. photodecomposition RhB MO dyes catalyst molecular oxygen showed that presented photodegradation yield approximately 70% could be reused five successive cycles without any obvious change its activity. current-voltage impedance spectroscopy measurements confirmed our metalloporphyrin
